Generously funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, On Our Street: Exploring the People and Places of Upper Street and the King’s Head Theatre and Pub featured as part of the Story of London Festival 2010, organised by the Mayor, which celebrated the world-class heritage and culture on offer across the city. Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “To an Islington resident like myself, the King's Head is a little gem. Pioneering in the way it has brought theatre to locals and theatergoers from across the capital over the years, I'm delighted this Upper Street landmark is part of the Story of London festival, which is celebrating innovation and ideas. We want Londoners to get out and explore their city - On Our Street demonstrates perfectly that around every corner there is a tale to be told.”
